Signpost Stockport For Carers is committed to supporting unpaid carers of all ages to fulfil their own needs as individuals. Established in 1986 as an independent registered charity, the centre strives to improve the quality of life of those caring for others. This includes young carers from the age of 6 years old.
AIMS & GOALS
Our aim is to provide information and support to unpaid carers in Stockport, helping them to access emotional and practical services which will improve their quality of life.
Working with voluntary and statutory organisations the centre assists carers to find services and activities which support their situation and help them maintain their own health and wellbeing. Working closely with stepping Hill and the Memory assessment Clinic, the centre also provides a specialist disability benefits service to carers who look after a friend or relative with dementia.
