CARERS VOICE

Glenys is the Carer Involvement Co-ordinator for SignPost. Glenys encourages carers to attend the Carers Voice meetings (Carers Forum) and so enables them to make a difference with how services and money is spent in Stockport. There has been over 100% increase in Forum membership from 2010/2011. Please feel free to contact Glenys via Signpost if you would like more information.

Glenys aims to strengthen the voice of carers in Stockport by:

  • raising awareness of carers' needs and incorporate their views at a strategic level
  • enable carers to become involved in the decision making process
  • meeting with existing groups of carers and looking for ways of making contact with carers who do not currently get involved with support services or groups
  • working with partner organisations to raise the profile of carers' needs in Stockport
