ABOUT CARERS BREAKS

Our Carers Break Service distributes grants to enable carers to take a break from their caring role.  This service is funded by Stockport MBC via the National Carers Grant and any carers who live in Stockport can apply for a grant by filling in a simple application form. If you have difficulty with the form the Carers Break Service can give assistance.   

All personal details are removed from completed application forms before they are presented to an independent award panel, which meets throughout the year, to determine the success of each application.  The criteria are as follows:- The grant is not means tested

  • You must live in Stockport.
  • You must be 18 or over.
  • The person you care for must be over 18.
  • You can apply for up to £350.
  • First time applicants will take priority.
  • You must have been a carer for at least one year.
  • You should not be in receipt of any other holiday grants.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately all funds for parent carers have been allocated up until April 2012.
