Stockport Carers are invited to come to the latest Carers Network event, to be held on Tuesday 20th March, 10.30am – 1pm.

Our Carers Network is designed to bring together carers and the many professionals working to provide services for carers. It is hoped that regular Network meetings will generate discussion and ideas that will enable and encourage  carers to engage with services and talk to others about their caring roles. The results of these discussions will inform the work of Signpost and our partner organisations.

The 20th March event will have a theme of 'Small Measures: Big Impacts' covering a range of new initiatives aimed at improving the lives of carers. It will be an opportunity to find out about the latest developments regarding carers and caring in Stockport and Greater Manchester, as well as being a great way to meet other carers. There will be plenty of information to take away, and a chance to put your views forward. There will be hot and cold drinks and light refreshments available throughout, but not lunch - sorry!

Confirmed topics include:

  • The Carers’ Charter – making the Charter a Reality in Stockport and across Greater Manchester
  • Friendly Fridays and Coffee for Carers
  • Steady in Stockport
  • Self Help Services and Signpost – Supporting carers with Life after Loss
  • Piloting the ‘Red Bag Scheme’ in care homes
  • How the use of GPS (Global Positioning System) can help you, and the person that you care for
  • Connecting Carers Card – A Carer’s Passport for Stockport?
  • Stockport Mind Carers Service

Each presentation will be just 10-15 minutes long, with a chance to ask questions.

Places are limited. If you would like to come along, please email [email protected] or call Signpost on 0161 442 0442.
