Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where do we meet?

A. In the car park of Gatley Carrs. For SAT NAV purposes, Gatley Carrs does not have a postcode but is at the end of Brookside Road (single track) postcode SK8 4BG. It can be reached by following the brown duck (Nature Reserve) street signs on A560 Gatley Road at the old Tatton Cinema/ Horse and Farrier pub, via Old Hall Road to Brookside Road to the car park.

Q. Will there be food provided?

A. As the walk will span over lunch time, we are asking participants to bring their own sandwiches, snacks and a drink for a simple picnic lunch along the way. No later than 1pm, we will head to a café in nearby Gatley for complimentary tea and cake to finish.

Q. Can I bring the person I care for?

A. Yes! If this would be a suitable activity for you to do together, the person you care for is welcome to come with you.

Q. It looks like a long walk, do I need to be very fit?

A. Although we will be out for quite a while, the pace will be gentle - more of a slow amble - so that you have time to observe the nature all around you. You are also welcome to stay for as little or as long as you wish. Only normal levels of fitness should be required but you will be on your feet for most of the time, so you do need to have good mobility.
