Frequently asked questions!

Q. Who can come to this?

A. Anybody who is a carer living in Stockport and looking after a friend or relative who - due to their physical or mental health, disability or addiction - couldn't manage without their help. It is not intended to be an event where people bring the person they care for.

Q. What time should I arrive?

A. The day begins at 10.30am but workshops, entertainment and therapies will run throughout the day so you can come at a time that is convenient for you. However, availability will be on a first come-first served basis.

Q. Is there parking?

A. Yes, the hotel has a car park including parking to the rear.

Q. Where do we go when we get there?

A. Please follow the signs to the registration area where we will register your arrival as quickly as we can.

Q. Will there be food provided?

A. Budget restrictions means unfortunately we will be providing only tea/coffee on this occasion as well as a visit from the ice cream van in the afternoon! Please ring The Alma Lodge directly on 0161 483 4431 if you wish to enquire about the availability of their bar food and bring snacks if you need to.

Q. Can I just come for a short time?

A. Yes, of course! You may stay for as little or as long as you wish.

Q. Do I need to book?

A. Yes, please book by ringing the office on: 0161 442 0442 or email us [email protected]

Q. But I'm not certain I will be able to come. Do I really need to book?

A. If you need to cancel nearer the time or even on the day, that's fine (we understand!) but please do book a place provisionally to give us an idea of expected numbers.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
