An exciting opportunity has arisen within our service to employ a sessional group bank worker. The Wednesday and Thursday group work sessions are an integral part of the Signpost Young Carers Service. We are looking for someone to cover staff holidays, sickness or if we hold additional groups. We are also looking for a worker to cover the occasional weekend residential.

The groups' primary aim is to enable young carers to have a break from their caring role, meet others in a similar situation and access activities that they would find difficult due to their family situation.   You will be required to work every Wednesday/Thursday 5 hours per session, which allows time for group preparation, transport, group session and admin.

You must have experience of working with young people within a group setting. You will have an understanding of young carers' issues and demonstrate knowledge of basic youth work principals. You will also need experience of planning group work sessions and be able to work as part of a small team. It is essential that applicants have use of a car and hold a full license to be able to transport young carers to and from groups.

We welcome applications from both male and female workers to meet the needs of all Young Carers, and in particular someone who has a D1 license, and is prepared to drive the company mini bus.
